Biography

Peruvian/American Artist: Percy D. Palomino, professionally known as “Donjouv Dancer” was born in Huancayo, Peru in 1973 and immigrated to the United States of America in 1977. Towards the end of grade school, Donjouv formed his first dance group at the age of nine, “Captain Krunch & the Funky Bunch,” taking first place in a talent showcase at the Vanalden School Elementary, armed with only his fat laced, grey Chuck’s, Purple Members Only windbreaker and a Ghetto Blaster. The following year Donjouv joined the “Valley Boyz,” an Ultra-Wave/Electro Music dance group which included Harry “Brother” Binns and Duane “Defari” Johnson Jr. At the age of 15, Donjouv caught wreck and battled nightly in the Los Angeles Hip-Hop and House Music Scene and would soon become the youngest member of the “Scheme Team,” a bi-coastal hip-hop band founded and

fronted by Mark “Divine Styler” Richardson, performing alongside artists; Malcolm McLaren, the Pharcyde, Ice-T, the Untouchables and Freestyle Fellowship. Donjouv now officially became emersed in the culture and was next featured in the Public Health Service Announcement Commercial, titled “No Smoking” choreographed by “Debbie Allen” along with the PEPSI commercial titled “Dance Duel” (S.A.G.).

In 1994, under the direction of Ron Chatman and Skate Boarding Legend: Lance Mountain, Donjouv began his professional art career by selling his first graphic artwork to “60/40 Skateboards.” The following summer of 1995, Donjouv traveled to New York City and met and collaborated with “Joseph I” in the Urban Clothing and Apparel Industry, providing services to Stress Magazine and various clothing and apparel labels, such as PNB Nation and Zydeco Extreme. In 1997 Donjouv assisted “Sunz of Man” (Wu-Tang) with their debut LP “The Last Shall Be First.” Donjouv would eventually provide consultant services to various artists, producers and executives primarily within the WU-TANG camp, including John “Mook” Gibbons, the RZA, Tekitha, Shyheim, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Brooklyn Zu, KillArmy, and the Black Knights. In the early 2000’s Donjouv would assist A&R: Charles “Big Chuck” Stanton at Aftermath Entertainment, where he would receive further education in the business of music.

Donjouv’s consulting services include assisting in the 2002 release of the “Sunz of Man”sophomore LP “Savior’z Day” (D3 Ent.), the 2003 release of Playboy Entertainment Group DVD, titled “Hip-Hop & Rock” featuring Ja Rule, Xzibit, DMX, Korn, Disturbed and Tommy Lee, and Executive Producer and A&R for Artist: Prodigal Sunn on his 2005 debut LP “Return of the Prodigal Sunn” (Free Agency Records).

Currently, Donjouv is developing his own brand, “VAL JERK” and writing and producing original music for “Dirty Dancer Records,” a Los Angeles based independent music label.

Dirty Dancer Records and Music Publishing is poised to engage and converge worldwide dancefloor soundwaves with a multi-generational demographic of bi-coastal, high-level drip-pop. Intentionally influencing dirty Dutch tech and post nu-wave frequencies, SoCal electro surf-punk cross pollinated with avant-tropical rhythm rock and soulfully mixed with extreme prejudice.
